What's the job?
We are currently seeking a Casual Demi Chef to join our Banquet Kitchen team. Reporting to the Sous Chef or Section Chef, you will prepare high‐quality dishes in line with IHG policies, procedures, and Crowne Plaza Melbourne standards, taking ownership of your designated kitchen section to ensure excellence in quality and presentation.
Your day to day
* Prepare and present a wide variety of hot and cold dishes, including meats, seafood, vegetables, desserts, and pastries while maintaining hygiene, quality, and presentation standards.
* Support kitchen operations by guiding kitchen attendants and cooks, keeping a clean work area, attending team briefings and training, and ensuring readiness for service.
* Contribute to a safe and efficient workplace by following health, safety, and hygiene procedures, reporting hazards, and fostering a positive and respectful team environment.
What We Need From You
* Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees, and third parties reflecting highly on the hotel, brand, and company.
* Strong problem‐solving, reasoning, motivating, organisational and training abilities.
* Good communication and writing skills.
* Professional appearance – wear your uniform with pride.
* Ability to work effectively in a team, meeting deadlines in a high‐pressure environment.
* Certificate III of Commercial Cookery or equivalent relevant qualification.
