Overview
The Dardanup Tavern is looking for a passionate, reliable, and skilled Sous Chef or experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. As a community-focused "country side" pub, we pride ourselves on serving high-quality local fare—from our famous steak sandwiches to curated menus featuring 100% Ferguson Valley wines. We are looking for a "right hand" for our Head Chef—someone who can handle the lunch rush, lead the team during busy dinner services, and maintain the high standards our locals and visitors expect.
Responsibilities
The Role: This is a Full-Time position. You will be responsible for:
* Assisting in the daily operations of the kitchen.
* Running the pass and maintaining quality control during high-volume periods.
* Contributing to menu development and seasonal specials.
Ensuring strict food safety and hygiene standards are met. Mentoring junior staff and apprentices.
Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience in a Sous Chef or senior CDP role, preferably within a fast-paced pub or bistro environment.
Skills: Passion for local produce and classic pub favorites. Leadership: a calm head under pressure and the ability to motivate a small, hardworking team. Reliability: we are a tight-knit community hub; we need someone we can count on.
