Fluid in Motion Pty Ltd (FIM) has over 20 years’ experience in the hydraulic hose, fittings, components and engineered service solutions supporting marine, subsea, defence, mining and industrial sectors. FIM designs, manufactures and installs hydraulic and lubrication systems to customer requirements, supported by both workshop and field servicing and installation activities. Located in the Perth Southern Metropolitan area, we service the oil and gas, mining, construction and maritime industries.
We are seeking an individual who can lead the national expansion of their high-performance business. We are a brand with a genuine visible impact on the Western Australian landscape.
With ISO-accredited systems, established offshore capability and trusted OEM partnerships, FIM is entering a major growth phase to expand nationally while strengthening its position in the defence and oil and gas markets.
The Opportunity
This is a rare leadership opportunity to scale an established, respected hydraulics business into a national brand.
You will lead geographic expansion, build a multi-state service network, grow hose and fittings distribution, and secure national contracts across key industries.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, lead and execute the company’s state and national growth expansion strategy to achieve long-term goals and growth
Take the lead to make sure each department is functioning correctly and fully
Establish new branches and service capability across Australia
Grow market share in hydraulic hose, fittings, and components
Expand OEM, defence, marine, mining, and industrial accounts
Scale workshop and field service operations nationally
Leading and overseeing company projects
Build and lead a high-performance leadership, sales and operations team
Implementing and managing health, safety and wellbeing strategies ensuring compliance with current legislation
Strengthen supplier and strategic partnerships
Deliver revenue growth, margin improvement, and ROI on expansion
Oversee daily operations including financial management, budget monitoring and company policy development
Implementing, managing and overseeing risk management and compliance frameworks
Report to the CEO/Director, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards
Act as the primary liaison between all stakeholders, maintaining relationships with key clients
About You
You are an experienced industrial or hydraulics sector leader with a proven track record of scaling service or distribution businesses across multiple locations.
You bring
10 to 15 years of senior leadership experience in hydraulics, fluid power, or industrial services together with a strong knowledge of hose, fittings and hydraulic component markets
Previous experience as a company director is essential together with governance and assurance structures
Formal qualifications in either accounting or finance, commerce and business desirable
A current C Class Drivers Licence and an up-to-date National Police Clearance are essential
Demonstrated success growing market share and national footprint
Experience leading multi-site service or technical operations
Previous experience in managing large company projects essential
Strong financial acumen with previous experience in commercial, P&L accountability, analysis and resource allocation essential
Risk management and compliance experience essential
Up to date knowledge and experience of Work Health and Safety legislation desirable
A proven understanding of legal concepts and frameworks applicable to both the role of director and the industries in which the company operates desirable
Strategic growth mindset with proven hands‑on execution ability
Strong people management experience with the ability to lead, motivate and manage high level teams as well as the successful implementation of change
Strategic interpersonal and communication skills
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management experience
Strong conflict resolution experience with the ability to make informed and logical decisions
Adaptable and flexible to navigate changing conditions and challenges
Experience in SimPRO desirable
Location
Perth South Metro with national travel and expansion responsibility
Package
A competitive salary of $250k, plus package will be offered to the successful candidate. A KPI and bonus structure will be attached to the role.
