Medical Specialist Anaesthetist
Location: Eastern Health, VIC, AU, 3128

About the Role
Specialist Anaesthetist position supporting a range of surgical services at Eastern Health, including vascular, ENT, thoracic, upper GI and hepatobiliary, colorectal, obstetrics, gynaecology (including gynaecological oncology), breast and endocrine, paediatric surgery, urology, orthopaedics, plastics and reconstructive surgery.
Appointments are Eastern Health based. Regular session allocations are balanced between acute EH sites (e.g. Angliss and BoxHill Hospitals) and other EH sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain consistent demonstration of clinical competency.
* Adhere to appropriate infection control practices.
* Develop and maintain high levels of professionalism and working relationships with all co‐workers.
* Punctuality and reliability in attendance.
* Work efficiently across different hospital sites within Eastern Health.
* Optimise patient access to surgical services.
* Supervise junior anaesthetic medical staff at all times.
* Maintain appropriate medical documentation.
* Complete non‐clinical tasks as allocated by Clinical Directors of Anaesthesia, including administrative tasks, medical education, clinical audit and research, and clinical practice guideline development.
* Represent the department and organisation professionally both internally and externally.

* Efficient work practices and patient accessibility.
* Ability to supervise junior staff.

* Experience with non‐clinical responsibilities (administration, education, audit, research, guideline development).
Vaccination & Health Requirements
* Seasonal influenza vaccination is mandatory; up‐to‐date influenza vaccination required for offers made after May.
* COVID‐19 vaccination recommended; role may require up‐to‐date COVID vaccination depending on current policies.
* Vaccination and screening for immunity to vaccine‐preventable diseases is a mandatory requirement.
