We are looking for people across Australia who can deliver courses in Conservation & Ecosystem Management, Cultural Site Works and On Country Management.
The candidates should have the following:
* A related qualification in these fields
* Experience or a capacity to work with indigenous communities
* Willingness to work in a FIFO arrangement in regional areas to deliver training in blocks
On Country Academy is a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation (Provider 45741), approved by the Australian Quality Skills Authority (ASQA). We deliver high‐quality training to support indigenous communities in the delivery of Ranger programmes on their Country, in regional and remote areas.
We specialise in the delivery of courses in environmental management, cultural and heritage sites, and practical and professional skills needed on Country. Our programmes support the development of Healthy Country Plans developed by Traditional Owners to preserve the environment and culture, and facilitate knowledge transfer. The outdoors is our classroom.
Your Role
As a trainer & assessor you will be engaged to deliver units of competence in blocks of training in the field, based on practical activities. The class groups are small (less than 10 students) and are Rangers as part of the management of Country. Each programme is supported by an Elder to provide traditional knowledge and manage cultural protocols.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, hands‐on training sessions (usually in a regional area) in accordance with the training package/curriculum, using OCA learning materials and guides.
* Conduct competence assessments, mark and provide feedback to ensure compliance with RTO standards.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for diverse learners.
* Maintain accurate, up‐to‐date documentation regarding attendance, assessment, and learner progress.
* Participate in trainer meetings, moderation/validation processes, and professional development.
* Maintain up‐to‐date knowledge and practical skills within the relevant industry.
* Participate in course development and review of course materials.
* Ensure student records are maintained using the OCA Axcelerate LMS.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
* Demonstrated, current expertise in the specific subject area in which training is undertaken, with a requirement to maintain currency in qualifications.
* Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills for clear instruction and feedback.
* Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as required by the organisation.
* Sound understanding of relevant regulations (e.g., ASQA requirements; cultural protocols).
* Ability to use virtual training platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and the MS Office suite.
