Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, strong problem‐solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high‐quality solutions.

Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions based on industry best practices and client requirements.
* Work with the Architecture team to deliver Cloud services that align with Architectural patterns and frameworks.
* Configure and optimize cloud services and resources to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost‐effectiveness.
* Provide best practice advise the financial impacts of Cloud design and use.
* Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to gather requirements, develop solutions, and deploy cloud‐based applications and services.
* Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
* Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and compliance, and implement remediation actions as needed.
* Implement security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security controls, to protect cloud infrastructure and data.
* Stay up‐to‐date with emerging cloud technologies and trends, and evaluate their potential impact on our cloud solutions and services.
* Document technical designs, configurations, and procedures to support knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to client team members and participate in knowledge sharing activities within the organization.
Qualifications
* Hold a current AGSVA NV1 clearance or above
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
* Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions.
* Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures, including public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
* Hands‐on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including proficiency in cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, and databases.
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
* Solid understanding of networking principles, protocols, and security practices in cloud environments.
* Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes is a plus.
* Strong problem‐solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud infrastructure and applications.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with clients and stakeholders.
* Relevant cloud certifications are highly desirable.
Location
This position is based primarily in Canberra, although candidates in other states with appropriate AGSVA clearances and the ability to do occasional travel will be considered.
