Job Description
The Mental Health Practitioner will provide mental health support to students in a government school setting. The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing mental health prevention and promotion activities, delivering professional learning to teachers and other wellbeing staff, and coordinating supports for students with complex needs.
This role is part of the MHP initiative, which aims to expand mental health and wellbeing support in government schools. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the school community to enhance mental health prevention and promotion across the school.
The ideal candidate will have direct counselling experience, a current Working With Children Check, and registration with AHPRA or equivalent. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.

Required Skills and Qualifications
* Qualification as a psychologist, social worker, mental health nurse, occupational therapist or counsellor of a prescribed class.
* Registration with AHPRA or equivalent (for psychologists, mental health nurses and occupational therapists).
* Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (for social workers).
* Practising member of either the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) (for counsellors).
