About the Role
Law360 Australia is seeking a motivated and adaptable General Assignment Reporter to join its fast‐paced newsroom. In this role, you will deliver timely, accurate and engaging news stories, reporting on developments across a variety of industries and legal practice areas.
The ideal candidate brings strong news judgment, curiosity, and the ability to respond quickly to evolving news cycles, alongside a solid understanding of Australia's legal landscape. This is an opportunity to contribute to a leading legal news service and build expertise reporting on issues that matter to lawyers, business leaders and regulators.
Responsibilities
* Report and write daily legal news articles with speed, accuracy and strong news judgment
* Write clear, compelling and accurate headlines
* Adhere to Law360's editorial standards, in‐house style guidelines
* Build and maintain strong relationships with sources
* Collaborate closely with fellow reporters, editors and regional/global Law360 teams to support cohesive coverage
* Contribute to editorial meetings and support story development and newsroom planning
* Use approved LexisNexis tools, including AI‐assisted technologies, responsibly and within governance frameworks to support editorial workflows
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development initiatives
Requirements
* Proven relevant skills gained through experience will be considered.
* Qualifications in journalism / media or related field
* Exceptional communication skills
* At least one year of full‐time paid reporting experience.
* Demonstrated reporting and writing skills.
* Research, analytical & database skills
* Experience reporting for a business or legal audience (preferred)
