The Queensland Police Service (QPS) has embarked on a significant organisational transformation of its work health and safety functions. Central to these improvements is the significant uplift in the capacity and capability of the specialist workforce under the Safety and Wellbeing Division.
Position
The AO7 Principal Health & Safety Advisor role is fundamental to workplace engagement, workforce capability building and WHS compliance and advisory services for designated local QPS business units. While co-located within local business units, they are part of the centralised division which includes senior, principal and management level WHS practitioners. Advisors are also based in regional hubs to support State Emergency (SES) and Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ) functions.
Safety Operations Team
The Safety Operations team within Safety & Wellbeing comprises safety and risk management specialists with advisors located in police regions, commands and divisions.
