About the role
We are seeking an experienced Beekeeper to join our team at My Dads Honey in Moama, NSW. As a Beekeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and managing our beehives, ensuring the continuous production of high-quality honey. This full‑time position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment, surrounded by the natural beauty of the region.
What you'll be doing
- Inspect and maintain the health and productivity of our beehives
- Collect and extract honey, wax, and other hive products
- Monitor and control pests and diseases affecting the hives
- Assist with the preparation and preservation of honey for packaging and distribution
- Maintain accurate records of hive activities and production
- Collaborate with the team to implement best practices in beekeeping and honey harvesting
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our beekeeping operations
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Beekeeper or in a similar role
- Thorough understanding of apiculture and bee behaviour
- Ability to identify and manage common bee health issues and pests
- Strong attention to detail and record‑keeping skills
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks related to beekeeping
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for sustainable and ethical farming practices
