WA Country Health Service (WACHS) – Bunbury and Kalgoorlie Health Campus' are offering exciting Registrar Service opportunities in 2027. These opportunities will be for 6- or 12-month full time appointments (80 hours per fortnight) commencing February or August 2027.
Bunbury Health Campus Profile
The department has six consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, four or five registrars, with regional GPOs on the out of hours roster. The roster is one in four – five weeks of 4-night shift and one in four weekends on call.
Work involves ward and labour ward, high risk antenatal clinics, maternity assessment unit, emergency consults in ED and an early pregnancy service clinic. You will be the first responder, review and manage patients as indicated under direct or indirect supervision by consultants.
* The unit has accreditation to train for Certificate in Women's Health, basic and advanced DRANZCOG.
* The department is proud of its culture of hands‐on and clinical teaching.
* There is joint obstetric and paediatric maternity and mortality meeting, gynaecology M&M and imaging meetings.
* Furthermore, the department is actively involved in the teaching of medical students at the Rural Clinical School.
Kalgoorlie Health Campus Profile
The department has three consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, three registrars, one intern and four GPOs participating on the out of hours roster. The roster is one in four on call weekdays and one in four weekends. Work involves high risk antenatal clinics and gynaecological outpatients, three theatre lists per week, labour ward and maternity assessment unit, emergency consults in ED. You will be the first responder, review and manage patients as indicated under direct or indirect supervision by consultants.
* The unit has accreditation to train for Certificate in Women's Health, basic and advanced DRANZCOG. The department is proud of its culture of hands‐on and clinical teaching.
* There is protected teaching for registrars every Tuesday afternoon including formal presentations, workshops, journal club and joint obstetric and paediatrics maternity and mortality meeting.
* Furthermore, the department is actively involved in the teaching of medical students at the Rural Clinical School every Friday afternoon during term time.
