Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and practical Mechanical Designer / Draftsperson to join our team in Bibra Lake.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys seeing products move from concept through to production and understands real‐world manufacturing, fabrication and assembly processes.
About the Role
Working closely with management and our production team, you will be responsible for producing accurate, production‐ready drawings and helping improve the efficiency, consistency and development of our product range.
This is not a purely office‐based engineering role — we are looking for someone practical, solutions‐focused and highly capable in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings
* Develop sheet metal and weldment designs
* Create workshop‐ready fabrication drawings and BOMs
* Assist with product development and standardisation
* Improve manufacturing efficiencies and assembly processes
* Work closely with production staff to refine and improve designs
* Prepare CNC / laser‐cutting ready files
* Manage drawing revisions and documentation control
* Assist with vehicle layouts and component integration
Skills & Experience Essential
* Strong experience using SolidWorks
* Experience in sheet metal and weldment design
* Previous experience within fabrication, manufacturing or vehicle body building
* Ability to create accurate production‐ready drawings
* Strong understanding of practical manufacturing methods
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and solve problems
Highly Regarded
* Experience in aluminium fabrication
* Experience designing service bodies, trays, canopies or transport equipment
* Understanding of vehicle fitment and automotive accessory integration
* Trade background in fabrication or manufacturing
