A fitter and turner apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in engineering, manufacturing, or construction. As an apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn how to operate a variety of industrial machinery, such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines. You will also learn how to interpret technical drawings and use precision measuring tools to ensure that your work meets the required specifications. With a focus on hydraulics, you will also learn specialised skills in repairing and maintaining hydraulic components, fault finding, and designing hydraulic circuits.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be exposed to a wide range of tasks, from fabricating parts and assembling components to troubleshooting and repairing machinery. You will also develop skills in welding, brazing, and soldering, as well as in the use of hand and power tools.
