Senior Business Manager/Business Director: Medical Communications (3 month contract role)
An incredible opportunity has come available to join Omnicom Health Australia as a Senior Business Manager/Business Director.
We're looking for a Senior Business Manager or someone that's ready to step up to Business Director.
This role is a key position within Omnicom Oceania overseeing multi-faceted healthcare accounts that deliver meaningful results. This is a hands‑on position, working closely with both senior leadership, junior team members and international colleagues.
This role is ideal for someone with experience delivering a broad range of medical communications programmes (e.g. insight generation, strategy development, content creation, and campaign execution) who thrives in a fast‑paced agency environment.

What you’ll do:
Responsibilities
* Partner with senior team members to develop strategic plans that address client priorities
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong and trusted relationships
* Lead and guide account teams, working across all levels to ensure smooth delivery and progression of projects
* Contribute to account financial management, including budget development and monthly revenue tracking
* Lead and shape client meetings, providing clear direction, ideas, and solutions to challenges
* Apply knowledge of industry trends to ensure client advice remains current and relevant
* Ensure all deliverables demonstrate strong strategic thinking, clear direction, and high‑quality execution
Growth and New Business
* Identify opportunities to expand and grow existing client accounts
* Support new business activities, including pitches and proposal development
* Contribute to overall account and agency growth
* Mentor and support junior team members, fostering their development
* Guide teams through complex workstreams and challenges
* Drive improvements in delivery efficiency and prioritisation
About You
* 3‑5+ years' experience in healthcare communications within a medical communications or healthcare marketing agency
* Strong scientific understanding, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, strategic recommendations
* Experience working across a range of accounts
* Strong client leadership skills, with the ability to operate independently
* Strategic thinker, able to shape direction as well as deliver
* Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail
* Confident communicator, able to effectively guide clients and internal teams
This role will work across various disciplines including integrated healthcare professional communications and/or medical education.
