Overview
Begin a fulfilling career in parks and gardens by joining our four-year Apprentice program. You'll work alongside skilled professionals to maintain and enhance green spaces while attending weekly classroom sessions to build theoretical knowledge.
This role is based around the City of Port Phillip, including Elwood, St Kilda, South Melbourne, Albert Park, Southbank, and Windsor.
Program Details
* Start date: 1 April 2026
* Four-year apprenticeship program with hands-on experience
* Mentorship and practical training leading to a nationally recognised Cert III trade qualification
* Potential leadership opportunities after completion (e.g., Team Leader or Site Manager)
What You'll Learn
* Plant recognition, care and maintenance
* Plant nutrition programs
* Pest and disease management
* Irrigation systems installation and maintenance
* Specialist transplanting, pruning and mowing operations
* Safety protocols and equipment operation
About You
* No prior experience required
* Valid driver's licence is desirable but not essential
* Must be available to commence 1 April 2026
* Valid Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain)
* Valid White Card (or be willing to obtain)
* You must be an Australian citizen to satisfy the educational requirements of this role
Uniform and PPE
Fully supplied uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided. Depot located in Port Melbourne.
