This is a newly created opportunity to shape how change is delivered across Council's IT program.
As the Senior Change Specialist, you will lead the design and delivery of change management practices across strategic projects, IT maintenance initiatives and operational technology programs. You'll play a key role in ensuring our people, processes and culture evolve to support new systems, technologies and ways of working.
Working as the IT Department's lead change practitioner, you'll provide expert advice on stakeholder engagement, communications, training and transition planning. You'll also help build Council-wide capability, embedding consistent and effective approaches to change.
This role offers the opportunity to influence how change is adopted across Council and to drive a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation.
Role responsibilities
* Lead change planning and delivery across IT projects and programs, ensuring strong adoption and lasting outcomes
* Establish and uplift Council's change management framework, tools and practices
* Partner with project sponsors and managers as a trusted advisor on readiness, stakeholder engagement and communication
* Develop and deliver clear and engaging change and communication strategies
* Design and facilitate training, workshops and engagement activities to support successful adoption
* Work closely with project teams and Coordinators to integrate change into delivery plans
* Monitor outcomes, gather feedback and continuously improve change approaches
* Build strong relationships across Council to create confidence and enthusiasm for change
About you
* A degree qualification in change management, organisational development, business or a related field, or equivalent experience
* Demonstrated experience delivering complex change initiatives, ideally in technology or digital environments
* Proven ability to design and implement change, communication and stakeholder strategies
* Strong understanding of project delivery and how change integrates into programs
* Excellent communication and influencing skills across all organisational levels
* Experience mentoring others and building organisational capability
* The ability to collaborate, prioritise and deliver in a fast‐paced environment
