Job Title: Academic Medicine Specialist
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Medicine Position
* We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our academic team as an Academic Medicine Specialist.
* The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching, assessment, and academic support of Year 3 medical students undertaking their core clinical placements.
* Key responsibilities include playing a key role in curriculum development, demonstrating excellence across Teaching and Learning, Research and Innovation, and Service and Engagement.
* The ideal candidate will be an experienced educator with a strong commitment to student learning and development, holding a doctoral qualification/PhD (or near completion) or equivalent accreditation and standing in Medicine.
* A current registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions, notations or conditions is also required.
* The position requires proven experience in teaching, assessment, and/or curriculum development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, along with evidence of leadership through peer mentoring or clinical leadership roles.
* A commitment to collaborative engagement with clinicians and health services to improve healthcare outcomes is essential, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
* At Level C (Senior Lecturer), the position requires hold unconditional registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner with AHPRA (or equivalent), with recent clinical experience, and Active Fellowship with a recognised Australian Specialty College.
* Demonstrated leadership in learning and teaching, including course coordination, curriculum development, and mentoring at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels, along with a strong record of clinical supervision of medical students, junior doctors, and registrars.
* A track record of collaborative, health-related research or quality improvement initiatives is also desirable, as well as proven leadership and management capabilities.
