About the Role:
As a Deckhand with Brisbane Cruises, you will play a vital role in the daily operations and safety of our vessels. You'll assist in vessel maintenance, berthing and unberthing, passenger interaction, and supporting the crew in delivering smooth, memorable experiences on the water.
Key Responsibilities:
* Line handling (securing vessel on and off the dock while on charter/refuelling, securing vessel gangway)
* Boarding and counting passengers on & off the gangway
* Competent with line throwing, line securing and tying knots with various types of ropes
* Perform routine cleaning onboard the vessel
* General vessel maintenance supporting the engineer & master as required
* Support all crew with daily operational tasks
* Deliver high standards of customer service to passengers
* Ensure compliance with maritime safety procedures at all times
* Respond to emergency situations and drills as trained and directed
Requirements:
* Proven deckhand abilities/marine tourism experience
* Current General Purpose Hand (GPH) certificate or Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS)
* Current First Aid certificate
* Current Coxswains qualification and Marine Radio Licences are highly desirable
* A passion for working on the water and providing top-tier guest experiences
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and public holidays
* Physically fit and confident working in marine environments
* Ability to work as part of a team, under pressure and in a fast paced environment
