Head Medical is seeking experienced clinicians to join a newly developed 24/7 Hospital in the Home (HITH) service in Northern Tasmania. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical autonomy, innovation, and meaningful patient care in a flexible, community-focused model.

* Salary Package – Up to AUD $600,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)
The Role
The HITH North service delivers acute, hospital-level care in patients' homes, supporting both admission avoidance and early discharge.
You will join a collaborative multidisciplinary team providing high-quality care across Launceston and surrounding communities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing acute and chronic conditions in community settings
* Delivering rapid interventions to prevent hospital admissions
* Working closely with multidisciplinary teams
* Supporting service development, teaching, and quality improvement
* Participating in an on‐call and after‐hours roster
* Travelling across Northern Tasmania as required
This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for doctors who value autonomy, continuity of care, and working beyond traditional hospital settings.
Requirements
To be considered, you must:
* Hold (or be eligible for) Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia
* Be a Consultant in a relevant specialty (e.g., General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Rural Generalist), or hold an equivalent overseas qualification (CCT UK, CSCST Ireland, ABIM USA, RCPSC Canada, Vocational Registration NZ)
* Have experience managing acute medical conditions in hospital or community settings
* Be confident working within a multidisciplinary, community-based model
* Hold a current driver's licence (desirable)
Desirable
* Fellowship of RACP, ACEM or ACRRM (or equivalent)
