The Chance
We are seeking two EL2 equivalent Lead Communications Managers to support a high-profile, whole-of-government AI program within a central Australian Government agency.
In this role, you will lead and manage program reporting and corporate communications, turning complex technical and delivery information into clear, accurate and compelling content for executives, ministers and other senior stakeholders. You will own key reporting frameworks, coordinate inputs across delivery teams, and ensure that program performance, risks, milestones and benefits are communicated clearly and consistently.
You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative workplace with policy, ICT and delivery specialists, helping to shape how this flagship AI program is understood across the APS and the public sector. Hybrid working arrangements are available for Canberra-based candidates.
Skills and Experience
- Coordinate, draft and edit regular program performance reports, talking points and updates for senior executives and ministerial offices.
- Liaise with key stakeholders and delivery teams to gather, verify and synthesise information on milestones, risks, budget and outcomes.
- Develop high-quality program content for internal and external documents, publications and communication channels.
- Prepare clear, concise and timely briefs, submissions and responses, including support for QoNs, Senate Estimates and FOI-related material.
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve program reporting frameworks, processes and templates.
- Interpret and communicate project and program data for a range of audiences, including tracking progress against benefits realisation and performance metrics.
- Manage inputs from multiple stakeholders to produce cohesive, accurate documents under tight deadlines.
- Contribute to broader communications and engagement activities for the program as required.

- A collaborative and flexible approach, with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
