To be successful in the role, the Lead Engineer must understand procedures, processes and operate them to the required standards.
What You'll Do: Contract Drive high quality commercial performance through understanding the contractual commitments Continually develop systems to maximize efficiency benefits for the customer and CBRE Maintain a "7 Star Mindset" by delivering a world-class client experience, managing tasks, resolving issues before they become problems, and maintaining a concierge approach to guests Operational Provide all-round engineering support in maintaining the Operational Assets Ensure engineering Operational activities within the buildings are controlled with due regard to Health and Safety, business risk, and 100% uptime criteria Appointed as an HV authorised person; champion technical operations compliance at all times Maintain excellent standards of response to asset performance, complete assigned work, and address abnormal operating conditions and housekeeping issues Deliver effective business communication through advice, reviews, leadership, and reporting Plan and manage work ahead, daily on-site execution, communicate issues to stakeholders, and measure performance against schedules and staffing Lead management activities, develop operational procedures, and foster strong relationships Act as a point of contact during significant events or multi-discipline escalations Participate in business continuity plans as needed Ensure data centre operations and CBRE policies are complied with at the sites Supervise and manage on-site technical team members; set performance goals and develop staff Ensure staffing structures support workload peaks/troughs and disaster recovery Implement succession planning, monitor retention, and develop training plans Ensure 24/7 coverage with suitably trained staff Coordinate work permits and escalate permit approvals impacting business-critical systems Monitor risk assessments and supplier activities for health & safety compliance Maintain control systems to meet statutory, policy, and contractual commitments Maintain a customer focus in operational activities and meet SLA/KPI targets; retain necessary records Manage contractors/suppliers to maintain high standards and align with maintenance agreements/SLAs Hold regular vendor management meetings and follow established agendas Develop, implement and audit local MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs Promote CBRE core values and present a professional image onsite Manage other tasks as directed by the client; escalate matters promptly Address non-conformances and supervise vendor performance Support CMMS operator in scheduling and recording PPMe and reactive works Provide relief to the Critical Facilities Manager during their absence People Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to deliver best-practice selection, training, assessment, recognition, and appraisal Foster a learning environment and ensure training needs are met so staff are competent to perform roles Talent manage staff and identify career progression paths Onboard new employees; maintain team engagement and organize training and records Coordinate agency cover and track hours Promote teamwork and maintain positive customer relationships Hold team members accountable to performance standards and address underperformance Participate in team meetings and activities; promote collaboration across contract and business Be a point of escalation for expert knowledge during crucial situations Quality and Safety QHSE administrative tasks and coordination of sub-contractor files to ensure regulatory compliance Reporting and management of the work management system Log hazards and customer feedback on QHSE portals; maintain logbooks and e-Logbooks Maintain mandatory training compliance Others Receive supplier quotes and upload for client approval; work with Procurement as required Update internal Portals as needed; drive continuous improvement in quality, service, and efficiency Provide reliable expert knowledge and performance, especially in critical situations What You'll Need Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Essential Managerial experience at Facility Manager or Contract Manager within a critical environment Understanding of safety codes related to service delivery; experience with Health & Safety Risk Assessments and control measures Experience maintaining critical and temperature-controlled environments Detailed understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data centers: feeders, transformers, generators, fuel systems, switchgear, UPS, battery banks, ATS/STS, PDU/PMM, AHUs, chillers, fire alarm and fire suppression systems Experience managing large outsourced contracts Operations management experience including team management, scheduling, and performance reviews Experience with maintenance scheduling and subcontractor management Strong familiarity with ticketing/workflow systems and escalation management Vendor management experience to oversee outsourced support and projects Familiarity with ISO/FISMA audit processes and documentation Recruitment and line management/supervisory experience Australian citizenship and ability to obtain government clearance up to NV1 if requested Ready to Power Up Your Career?
