Exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse - Alcohol & Other Drug to join the Department of Health, North West region, Ulverstone location.
The Team
We are a multidisciplinary team providing Alcohol and Drug treatment and support to clients and offering support to other services in treatment options and referral pathways. The MDT team includes Allied Health, Nursing and Medical staff and is part of the SMHS alcohol and drug statewide service.
The Role
Our services work closely with other services within the public and private sectors to deliver excellence in healthcare and improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce, and the Tasmanian community. We provide Harm minimisation strategies, Pharmacotherapy, Consultation Liaison services, inpatient and residential pathways and medical consultation.
You will need
* Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary evidence based practice used in the treatment and prevention of alcohol and other drug dependence, including AOD assessment, harm minimisation framework, interventions and prevention activities.
* Knowledge of, and the ability to undertake, comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions with complex AOD issues.
* Knowledge of and ability to develop, monitor and implement quality assurance and improvement activities and/or research.
* Provide comprehensive clinical assessments, treatment and case management services to clients (and their families/carers).
* Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure best outcomes for clients, families and friends.
* Provide Pharmacotherapy treatment and harm minimisation advice as part of the MDT process, including travel to outreach centres and in inpatient facilities.
Details of appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker position, 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.
Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata) with 12% superannuation on top. Salary packaging available. Aged allowances and post-graduate allowances may apply based on qualifications and incremental points.

Other information
Essential criteria: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse. Desirable: postgraduate qualifications in AOD, valid driver's licence. See the Statement of Duties and Applicant Guide for full details.
