About the role
In this exciting new role, you will lead efforts to enhance the capability and capacity of communities and key partners to prepare for and respond to the growing risks of extreme heat in Greater Melbourne. You will also engage private sector partners, contribute to research and evidence‐building, and drive policy influence and public awareness to support effective long‐term adaptation to extreme heat.
What you will bring
* Demonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise in disaster resilience and community development principles
* Sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate, and solve problems and exercise initiative and judgment
* High level of knowledge and skills and proven ability in developing and delivering training, workshops, and resources.
* Sound discipline knowledge gained through experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships across sectors.
* Ability to work under general direction from senior employees, exercise a degree of autonomy and work with and lead teams and people from diverse backgrounds to create a collaborative working environment
* Ability to set priorities, plan and organise their own work and that of other relevant staff and/or volunteers
* Experience in disaster resilience, emergency management, or community development.
