Our client, based in Collie, is currently looking for Shotfirers with experience in the operation of heavy mining equipment, to ensure production outcomes are achieved in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
As a Shotfirer you will be responsible for checking blasting areas to ensure safety requirements are met; establishing exclusion zones in and around the blast area; connecting and testing or expecting the blasting circuit; fire charges; inspecting blasting area to ensure all explosives have detonated whilst adhering to company policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
Experience/Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years demonstrated mine site experience on similar below equipment
* WA Shotfirers License essential
* Valid WA "C" class Driver's Licence essential
* WA Dangerous Goods essential
* Heavy Rigid Driver's Licence desirable
* Certificate III in Surface Extraction desirable
* Physically fit and willing to undertake a pre-employment medical and drug screen
Equipment on Site
* Komatsu Dump Trucks and Loaders
* Caterpillar & Komatsu Watercarts, Graders, Loaders
* Caterpillar & Liebherr Dozers
* Liebherr Excavators
Roster/Pay Rate
* 4 days on 4 days off (approx. 36 hours per week with overtime available)
* Drive in / Drive out daily
* Must live or have accommodation within an hour's drive of Collie
* Casual contract with opportunity for permanency
* $70* per hour flat rate on all hours (*$57.94 casual rate, plus $12.06 temporary allowance)
