Event Manager - Full-Time | Salaried

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Event Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of exceptional events from initial enquiry through to execution.

This role is suited to a hospitality and events professional who thrives in fast‐paced environments, takes ownership, and understands that successful events are built through strong leadership, attention to detail and exceptional client relationships.

The Event Manager will oversee weddings, corporate functions, private events, conferences, sporting events and premium hospitality experiences, ensuring all events are delivered to the highest possible standard.

This is a hands‐on leadership role requiring strong operational management, client communication, team supervision and a proactive focus on driving business growth and customer retention.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Coordination

* Manage all events from initial enquiry through to final delivery
* Coordinate weddings, corporate functions, private events, conferences, sporting events and premium hospitality experiences
* Conduct client meetings and consultations to understand event requirements and expectations
* Prepare quotes, proposals, packages and event recommendations
* Develop detailed run sheets and service schedules to ensure smooth event execution
* Coordinate suppliers, contractors and service providers where required
* Ensure all event logistics are communicated and executed successfully

Client Relationships & Business Growth

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and venue partners
* Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the full event journey
* Identify opportunities to enhance event experiences through additional services and package upgrades
* Drive repeat business and referral opportunities through exceptional client experiences
* Maintain proactive communication and follow-up throughout the booking process

Team Leadership & Event Delivery

* Lead front‐of‐house operations during event service
* Supervise event staff, casual team members and event supervisors
* Coordinate closely with kitchen and operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery
* Manage staffing allocations, floor plans and rostering requirements
* Ensure all staff understand service expectations, timelines, dietary requirements and service standards
* Maintain high standards of professionalism, presentation and guest experience

Operational Standards & Venue Management

* Ensure all events reflect strong hospitality standards and brand presentation
* Monitor service delivery and resolve operational issues in real time
* Manage guest feedback and service escalations professionally
* Maintain compliance with operational procedures, venue standards and licensing requirements
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across event delivery and customer experience

Administration & Reporting

* Manage event bookings, scheduling and confirmations
* Prepare event documentation and invoicing
* Maintain accurate reporting on event performance and revenue
* Assist with forecasting, labour planning and operational efficiency
* Identify opportunities for service improvement and business growth

Skills & Experience Required

Candidates must hold permanent residency status to be eligible for this role.

Essential

* Minimum 3+ years' experience in hospitality leadership or event management
* Experience managing weddings, corporate events, functions or premium hospitality services
* Proven ability to lead teams in fast‐paced environments
* Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and problem‐solving ability
* Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
* Current RSA Certificate
* Current Driver's Licence
* Availability to work nights, weekends and event‐based schedules

Highly Regarded

* Experience within catering operations or premium event environments
* Strong understanding of hospitality sales and revenue growth
* Strong understanding of food and beverage operations
* Social media or marketing experience to support event promotion and business visibility

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Performance may be measured against:

* Event conversion rates
* Customer satisfaction and feedback
* Repeat bookings and referrals
* Revenue growth and upselling opportunities
* Labour cost management
* Event profitability
* Service delivery standards
* Team leadership and staff development
