About the role
The Account Manager (NSW and Qld) has responsibility for driving revenue generation, primarily within the Pathology portfolio, in line with budget expectations.
The individual is required to identify opportunities to expand both the existing product and customer base in a clinical and academic setting. Customer interaction is predominantly face to face, with online interaction also encouraged to maximise engagement..
Skills and experience
* The Account Manager has responsibility for maximising customer interaction predominantly via face to face customer meetings to identify opportunities to grow revenue within the existing customer base.
* Provision of pricing/quotations, product and technical support, and a consistently superior level of customer service are also key responsibilities of the role.
* To understand and deliver the value proposition of the Pathology portfolio to customers.
* To attend, and where applicable manage, sales conferences and trade exhibitions.
* To work closely with colleagues from the Commercial and Business Unit teams to nurture customer relationships and drive growth opportunities.
* To utilise Trajan tools such as CRM and business analytics effectively.
* Tertiary qualifications preferably within biological sciences with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a commercial role; within the Scientific or medical industry.
Demonstrated experience in:
An ability to develop and nurture customer relationships through understanding their needs
An ability to understand customer work flows and product/technical needs.
An ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
A consultative approach is required in understanding the environment the customer is working within and specifically the products and technical support required to meet their needs.
Experience in servicing customers within the scientific/medical industry is required to successfully execute this role.
An ability to go beyond understanding the superficial needs of the customer and to question and explore opportunities to service the customer better by providing new or improved products or services will be required for the project aspect of the role.
