Gold Coast Health is looking for a Psychiatrist to join the Older Persons Mental Health service.
Gold Coast Health is a 750‐bed teaching hospital located in a metropolitan, coastal location of Queensland serving a population of 600,000 people.
Our Mental Health Service consists of inpatient, outpatient, and community teams. There are 130 inpatient beds: a 50‐bed psychiatric unit with an ICU sub‐unit, a 10‐bed acute young adult unit, an 8‐bed child and youth unit, a 16‐bed aged care unit, a 59‐bed extended care rehabilitation and psycho‐geriatric unit. Services include adult and child consultation/liaison services, an emergency psychiatric service, two adult and two child and adolescent community clinics, and a mobile intensive therapy team.
We offer an opportunity to provide both inpatient and community based services with extensive teaching and research responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Provide inpatient and community psychiatric care for older persons.
* Deliver teaching to trainees across specialties.
* Engage in research activities and contribute to the service's scholarly output.
Qualifications
* Registration as a medical practitioner and specialist psychiatrist (FRANZCP) with the Medical Board of Australia.
