We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Retail Manager to join our team at BIRD CAGE HANDCRAFT PTY LTD. As our Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day‐to‐day operations of our retail store in Sydney, NSW. Job Description of Retail Manager
* Overseeing the day‐to‐day operations of the retail store, ensuring the store is presented to a high standard and operates efficiently to deliver exceptional customer service.
* Monitoring sales performance, analysing customer purchasing trends, and implementing merchandising and promotional strategies to maximise revenue and profitability.
* Maintaining optimal stock levels by conducting regular inventory checks, coordinating product replenishment, and ensuring accurate stock records are maintained.
* Selecting and ordering jewellery, home décor, and gift products from approved suppliers in consultation with the Managing Director to ensure product offerings align with customer demand and market trends.
* Establishing and maintaining pricing strategies, including recommending retail prices and promotional discounts to achieve sales targets and competitive positioning.
* Ensuring compliance with company policies relating to cash handling, sales reconciliation, security procedures, and the safeguarding of high‐value inventory.
* Supervising and coordinating the work of the Casual Sales Assistant, including allocating duties, providing on‐the‐job training, and monitoring customer service standards.
* Preparing regular reports for the Managing Director on sales performance, stock movement, customer feedback, and operational issues, and recommending improvements to support the continued growth and success of the business.
* Preparing and monitoring store budgets, including forecasting revenue, controlling operating expenses, and analysing variances between budgeted and actual results to ensure the store meets financial targets and maintains profitability.
What we're looking for
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail management role, preferably in the Retail & Consumer Products industry
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
* Excellent customer service orientation and problem‐solving skills
* Proficient in inventory management, financial reporting, and data analysis
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
* Adaptable and resourceful, with a proven track record of driving continuous improvement
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Retail, Business Management, or a related field would be highly regarded

Pay: $70,000 – $80,000 per year
