We are looking for a motivated, committed, reliable person with a can-do attitude and a passion for food, who is wanting to gain practical on the job experience through a Part-Time Traineeship in Cookery.
Successful candidates will be signed up to a nominal term of 12 months, which once successfully completed the Certificate II, they can then choose to follow on and do a Certificate III in Cookery.
This is an entry-level role
Duties Will Include:
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and measuring, according to recipes and portion sizes.
* Learn various cooking techniques such as grilling, frying, baking, sautéing, and boiling under the supervision of experienced chefs.
* Learn how to plate dishes attractively, ensuring that each plate meets aesthetic standards and reflects the restaurant's style and brand.
* Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation, ordering supplies, and monitoring food wastage to minimise costs and maintain quality.
* Work closely with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation during service times, communicating effectively and assisting as needed.
Successful candidates must have the following:
* Interested in developing your culinary skills and experience.
* A passion for great food and learning new skills and techniques.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
* The ability to follow instructions and take direction.
* Food Handler's Certification or willing to obtain.
Candidate Requirements:
* Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen
*Any previous work experience in the hospitality industry is an advantage*

· Part time hours Minimum of 20 hours and must be willing to work weekends
