The
Bureau of Meteorology (BoM)
is seeking
two Senior Infrastructure Project Managers (EL2 equivalent)
to join the
Data & Digital Delivery Enablement Program
within the Infrastructure Portfolio team. These roles are responsible for delivering a varied portfolio of infrastructure projects, working alongside other project and IT professionals to achieve business outcomes.
The positions are
primarily based onsite at 700 Collins Street, Docklands, Victoria
, with a hybrid working arrangement of
3 days in the office and 2 days working from home
. Interstate travel may be required, with Bureau approval. Occasional out-of-hours work may be necessary to achieve project deliverables. Standard hours are
40 per week
.
Key Skills and Experience Requirements
* Strong familiarity with
modern Data Centre, Cloud, Information, Communications, and Security Technologies
.
* Certification with
one or more Project Management methodologies
and practical experience applying them in complex projects.
* Knowledge of the
PRINCE2 framework
and experience delivering medium-to-large infrastructure projects.
* Proven ability to
manage large teams and partners
, coordinating complex project activities.
* Proficiency in
Microsoft Project and Jira
in an enterprise environment.
* Strong
stakeholder management and communication skills
, with the ability to liaise with technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
* Experience implementing
site relocations and data centre projects
is highly desirable.
* Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to influence across teams.
* Familiarity with
Office365, SharePoint, Teams, and Gitlab
is desirable.
* Understanding of
Federal Government and BoM technology, procurement, finance, and project management processes
is advantageous.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage delivery of assigned infrastructure projects and programs within the
BoM Enterprise Portfolio Management and Delivery Frameworks
.
* Oversee project scope, schedules, documentation, and engagement with relevant stakeholders.
* Coordinate project resources to deliver work packages and outputs.
* Manage
Design, Build, Testing, Transition to Operations
, including GoLive documentation, technology change management, and post-implementation review.
* Track and manage project-level
risks, issues, dependencies, changes, and quality
.
* Act as the
primary point of contact
for internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage
financial tracking and reporting
using endorsed project tracking tools.
* Oversee procurement of hardware, software, and services to support project delivery.
* Facilitate
knowledge transfer
and capture within the project team.
* Apply
Agile, ITIL, and ADKAR methods
in daily project management activities.
* Ensure
WHS compliance
and demonstrate commitment to APS values, employment principles, and BoM Social Justice Strategy.

Security Clearance
