Lead Project Scheduler - Defence Industry

Saab Australia is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement (CSI-IPT CCA). The CSI-IPT CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1). This will see independently executed programs such as SEA4000 Phase 6 and SEA5000 Phase 1 brought under one umbrella enterprise organisation, the CSI-IPT.

The CSI-IPT will be built up with personnel from three industry participants and the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) to form a collaborative team working across multiple programs to leverage synergies between platforms.

The role

As part of our Engineering and Sustainment Services group, the Lead Project Scheduler will be accountable for the effective development, update, and maintenance of the CSI-IPT Supplementary Production and Maintenance Schedules and associated performance measurement baseline. The Lead Project Scheduler will also contribute to the development and maintenance of process and policy level documentation relative to the Integrated Supplementary Schedule Environment.

* Provide support, on‐job training, mentoring, and leadership to junior scheduler(s) within the team.
* Develop and maintain the CSI-IPT Production and Test Team's Integrated Supplementary Schedule for Production, Test, and Maintenance related activities and Performance Measurement Baseline.
* Assist with the integration of the Production and Test Team's Integrated Supplementary Production and Maintenance Schedules into Project Controls and Tasking Statement Reporting Systems.
* Lead the analysis and reporting of Schedule Critical Path, Critical Activities and Milestones.
* Manage Schedule Health using CSI-IPT's schedule guidance (DCMA) and improve overall schedule health of production and test team's integrated supplementary production and maintenance schedules.
* Present reports for delivery performance, schedule adherence, resource capacity and resource utilisation.
* Responsible for the maintenance of the Production and Test Supplementary Schedules and Schedule Interfaces.
* Provide SME advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders with respect to scheduling activities.
* Support reporting activities, internal and external reviews in relation to EVM and Project Planning & Controls.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, contract and organisational policies.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning activities.
About you
* Tertiary qualifications in either Project Management, Science, Business or Engineering discipline (desirable).
* Detailed understanding of PM methodologies and principles of project planning, scheduling and project controls.
* Working within a project‐orientated organisation and ideally in a maintenance, production, or test environment.
* Exposure to EVM practices (desirable).
* Working in a Defence acquisition environment (desirable).
* Well‐developed self‐management skills and demonstrated ability to work under their own initiative to deliver outputs to time and quality.
* Team mentality is essential as they will be a requirement to lean in and assist other team members at times.
* Using PM software such as Open Plan Professional, Microsoft Project, and Cobra.

Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain a NV1 security clearance. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
