Job Opportunity

* We seek a qualified professional to fill the Youth Lawyer, Educator position at Central Australian Women's Legal Service (CAWLS).

This is an exciting opportunity to work with vulnerable youth and their families in Central Australia, providing legal support, education, and advocacy.

The successful applicant will be based in Alice Springs, NT, delivering legal advice, case work, and referrals to students and families.

You will also prepare and facilitate tailored community legal education sessions, provide legal support in partnership with the School Wellbeing Team, conduct remote outreach to engage with and support regional schools, and advocate in collaboration with school and CAWLS colleagues.

To be successful in this role, you must be eligible to hold a Practising Certificate in the Northern Territory, have experience in legal practice, particularly with vulnerable youth or in school/community settings, and possess skills such as delivering legal education or community programs in schools, developing tailored legal education and training resources, and familiarity with CALD and First Nations communities.

Key qualifications include holding (or being eligible to obtain) a current NT Driver's Licence, Ochre Card, and National Police Check. A competitive base salary plus 12% superannuation, relocation assistance up to $3,000, six weeks annual leave + an additional 12 days personal leave, salary sacrificing options, and a supportive work environment with plenty of on-the-job training are also offered.
