About the Role

As an OHS Specialist, you'll lead strategic initiatives to improve occupational health and safety systems and processes, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and effectively managed. This is a dynamic role where you'll collaborate with clinical leaders, educators, and key stakeholders to embed a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to -
* Lead OHS strategy development and prevention planning across the organisation.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement practical controls to reduce hazards.
* Develop and review policies and procedures aligned with best practice and compliance requirements.
* Deliver tailored education programs for staff using diverse teaching methods.
* Investigate significant incidents, identify root causes, and recommend improvements.
* Analyse and report on incident data for internal and regulatory purposes.
* Engage with stakeholders including regulatory bodies and industry associations.
* Represent the organisation on committees and working groups to drive continuous improvement.
About You
* Degree in Nursing or Allied Health with current registration or professional membership.
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain) or experience delivering training programs.
* Advanced knowledge and experience in managing workplace hazards in a clinical setting.
* Strong project management skills.
Desirable
* Clinical experience in Mental Health, Emergency Department, or similar.
* Previous experience delivering OHS training in a health setting.
* Qualifications or experience in Occupational Health and Safety in healthcare or related discipline.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Highly effective influencing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
