About the Role
ASD has multiple positions to be filled within high-performing, dynamic, multidisciplinary teams committed to enabling ASD's missions in unique and exciting ways.
As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for performing traceability to strategic requirements and creating detailed business analysis including benefits, risk, feasibility and options analysis, scope requirements definition and prioritisation, planning and facilitation of stakeholder workshops, root-cause analysis, business acceptance activities, and business process improvement activities. Business Analysts are required to provide expertise in translating business requirements from technical and non-technical users into the design of appropriate solutions.
ASD 6 Business Analyst:
- Accountable for analysing stakeholder objectives and the underlying issues arising from investigations into business needs problems and opportunities.
- Develop plans and select appropriate techniques at the correct level of detail to meet assigned objectives.
- Provide advice and guidance to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify potential business benefits and options to realise business improvements.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
- Accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced employees.
- Appraise and verify new and updated business outcomes to ensure it meets Defence requirements.
ASD EL1 Business Analyst:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in business analysis within complex IT environment.
- A high level of accountability, capable of working under broad direction to deliver and lead highly complex business analysis activities on time.
- Accountable for investigating business needs problems and opportunities and recommend effective business processes.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify their needs, reach agreement on the business objectives and gain commitment to achieving results.
- Assess and evaluate a range of artefact such as business requirements, specifications and feasibility studies.
- Analyse very complex ICT business problems and apply expertise to identify and recommend courses of action.
- Prepare or contribute to business cases, which define potential benefits and options for achieving these benefits through development of current or changed processes.
- Advice stakeholders and colleagues on the choice of techniques, tools and processes required for modelling and analysis activities and tasks.
- Responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders' expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in mentoring and providing guidance to team members.
