The Team
The Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission is an independent statutory body established by the End-of-Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Act 2021. The Commission has decision‐making, advisory, monitoring, reporting, investigative, referral, and review functions associated with voluntary assisted dying in Tasmania. It is supported by a small specialist team that works collaboratively with Departmental stakeholders and external partners. Together, the team supports safe, lawful and compassionate end‐of‐life care for Tasmanians.
The Role
As a member of a small team, you will provide high‐level executive and administrative support to the Manager – VAD Commission, to members of the Commission, and to other senior managers, enabling the Commission to fulfil its statutory functions under the End‐of‐Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Act 2021.
* Support the operation of the Commission by providing executive and administrative assistance and monitoring compliance with the Act.
* Manage records, prepare documentation, advise on compliance‐related issues, maintain stakeholder relationships, and support the development, integration and maintenance of diverse systems, policies, protocols and training materials for record‐keeping and other administrative practices.

* Maintain an organised approach with appropriate processes to monitor and follow up outstanding issues within agreed timeframes.
* Exercise a high level of confidentiality, judgement, discretion and diplomacy.
* Champion a child‐safe culture that upholds the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and meet all mandatory reporting obligations.
Details of appointment
Permanent full‐time, day‐worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Salary
Ranging from $81,915 to $94,263 per annum, in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022. An employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
