Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Principal Software Architect to lead our Platform Engineering Organisation in shaping the forward-looking technical direction and long-term architecture for pillars in the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire innovation, solve complex problems, and influence leadership to implement solutions.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of distributed systems, modern cloud-native architectures, and distributed data management. They will be able to communicate updates and resolutions to senior and executive-level stakeholders and other partners to drive the mission forward.
This is a remote role with sufficient timezone overlap with the team. We can hire eligible candidates from anywhere in Australia and New Zealand provided they have eligible working rights.
Responsibilities
* Shape the forward-looking technical direction and long-term architecture for pillars in the organisation
* Collaborate with product, engineering, and design leaders to influence the broader department-level strategy
* Ensure that the technical strategy you build is aligned with the technical strategy of Atlassian products and platforms
* Partner with principal engineers and architects from other teams and guide exploration of large-scale projects spanning multiple teams in Enterprise
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in software/technology roles, in Enterprise Products & Solutions in the cloud. They will also have proficiency with cloud-native technologies, ideally AWS, and at least 6 years of experience architecting and implementing multiple features of a SaaS product at a high scale.
They will be able to articulate and pitch a technical vision to stakeholders and balance short- and long-term objectives, focusing on both technical and business outcomes.
