About the role
The Health System Operations Command Centre (HSOCC) plays a vital role in supporting system-wide situational awareness, operational coordination, and decision-making across NSW Health, particularly during periods of heightened demand.
The System Flow Officer, working collaboratively within the HSOCC, monitors and manages the operational flow and demand aspect of the health system to assist local health districts and specialty networks to achieve key performance indicators, and provides expert advice and governance to support HSOCC operations.
We are seeking an enthusiastic System Flow Officer with extensive experience working in a patient flow or demand management position, with proven ability to effectively negotiate with stakeholders within a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
This is a temporary full-time position, for up to 12 months, with the possibility for extension. On offer is a total of 40 hours per week, which is made up of the following shift types, across 7 days:
* AM: 0700-1530
* PM: 1400-2230
Please note:
* Onsite presence at 1 Reserve Road St Leonards is mandatory for all shifts.
* You must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays and weekends.

What you'll be doing
* The System Flow Officer will support system and agency connectivity by providing a central point of contact for all escalations to the Ministry of Health relating to system flow, capacity and demand.
* The position will monitor statewide ambulance Transfer of Care (TOC) according to the NSW Health Transfer of Care Delays Escalation Framework and assist with requests for matrix adjustments and escalations as necessary.
The successful candidate will
* Establish and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to engage stakeholders and ensure project deliverables are met.
* Monitor and evaluate risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues, assess project progress and effectiveness, and achieve project outcomes.
* Provide advice and information to health system stakeholders on emerging system flow issues to guide and facilitate timely resolution of problems.
* Support project development and delivery of flow and demand initiatives in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other project priorities.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated experience working in a health system flow and demand management position, ideally at a District level.
* Proven ability to effectively negotiate with internal and external stakeholders in a pressured environment.
* An understanding of emerging health system flow issues and effective resolution strategies.
* Developed skills in planning and project coordination in a health environment.
* Experience in monitoring and evaluating health work processes to achieve project outcomes.
