The Compliance Manager provides direct support to their team to deliver compliance management activities, including advice and insights, to support the effective control of compliance risk across the Commercial Insurance & Personal Injury Function (Business). This is achieved by leading a team to assess the ongoing adequacy of the compliance arrangements set out in IRIIS against internal and external environment (projects, regulatory change, regulator focus areas).
**What you'll do**
- Build capability within the team to drive consistent and pragmatic compliance management practices applicable to Commercial Insurance.
- Assess the adequacy of compliance arrangements relevant to the business portfolio including in relation to monitoring of compliance control effectiveness, governance arrangements, and compliance plan coverage.
- Manage ASIC administration activities and authorisations relevant to the business portfolio, including supporting Responsible Manager processes.
- Collaborate with compliance teams, business risk partners and business stakeholders across the Group to share insights and promote continuous improvement and consistency of approach in relation to compliance management practices.
**What you'll bring**
- Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, risk, law or other related degree - Desired.
- Australian Compliance Institute or Governance Institute of Australia membership or accreditation or similar - Desired.
- 8-10 years regulatory compliance / risk management, legal or commercial experience in the financial services industry, specifically covering Commercial Insurance.
- Proven experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders, including senior management.
- Proven experience in managing external partners, relationships and negotiations.
- A demonstrated understanding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework or an In-depth understanding of corporate compliance programs, enterprise risk management frameworks and compliance methodologies.
- Ability to think strategically, laterally and from a Group and business portfolio viewpoint.
- Ability to balance regulatory and risk governance requirements with commercial realities, and business goals.
- Strong facilitation, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to readily interpret legislation, regulation and standards and to assess the impacts on business portfolios.
