At Flinders Foundation, we connect our community with the clinicians and researchers improving patient care and driving medical breakthroughs across the Flinders medical precinct.

We're looking for a Senior Partnerships Manager who can bring people and organisations together around a shared purpose.

In this role, you'll grow and steward relationships with major donors, and philanthropic supporters including trusts and foundations and corporate partners — creating partnerships that directly support research, innovation and patient care.

Together, we raise vital funds to support the leading clinicians and researchers across Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders University to make medical discoveries and improve the care available to patients and their families.

REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the Head of Development and Partnerships and may include line reports from Community Fundraising portfolio.

Additionally, the Senior Partnerships Manager works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and closely with the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager to develop compelling partnership proposals and ensure the success of all partnership activities and campaigns.
Duties

Corporate, Trust and Foundation and Major Donor Partnership Development

· Develop and lead initiatives to grow partnerships, sponsorships, and philanthropic support.

· Research and identify prospective partners to build a robust pipeline, ensuring alignment with Flinders Foundation's values, brand, and ethical framework.

· Collaborate with the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager to brief and guide the development of partnership proposals, ensuring tailored and compelling materials for prospective partners.

· Secure and manage multi-year, untied funding agreements to drive income growth and impact.

· Oversee and develop key relationships with foundations, corporate partners and intermediary services to support philanthropic growth

· Manage organisations income generation grants program

Team Leadership and Development

· Lead, mentor, and support a small team to achieve their objectives.

· Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture, ensuring alignment with the Foundation's strategic goals.

· Set clear objectives and provide regular performance feedback to direct reports.

Donor Development and Major Giving

· Oversee the delivery of major giving programs, including the management of intermediary services, regular giving, appeals, and legacy giving.

· Support the staff in identifying high-value major donors and transitioning them to the executive team for stewardship and uplift opportunities.

· Ensure strategies are in place to maximize donor retention and lifetime value.

Community Fundraising and Beneficiary Engagement

· Support Community Fundraising in driving peer-to-peer, beneficiary and grassroots fundraising initiatives within a campaign framework.

· Strengthen the connection between beneficiaries and community fundraising efforts to enhance storytelling and donor impact.

· Collaborate with the Fundraising Campaigns Manager to ensure community fundraising efforts are aligned with overarching campaign goals and objectives.

Stakeholder and Relationship Management

· Nurture and retain existing partners by developing strong relationships, delivering exceptional stewardship, and providing regular updates on partnership outcomes.

· Act as a key relationship manager, engaging with executive-level stakeholders to secure and maintain high-value partnerships.

· Collaborate with the Board, Executive Director, and other senior staff to drive non-government income growth and stability.

Engagement and Campaign Oversight

· Support the team in the planning and execution of activities related to portfolios ensuring engagement of key stakeholders under portfolio

· Ensure alignment between fundraising campaigns and the broader partnership strategy.

· Work closely with the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager and Fundraising Campaigns Manager to coordinate campaign promotions and ensure their success.

Reporting and Performance Analysis

· Prepare detailed performance and impact reports for key stakeholders.

· Manage budgets and track income performance to ensure targets are met or exceeded.

Profile Building and Collaboration

· Develop and maintain internal and external networks to raise the profile of Flinders Foundation.

· Represent Flinders Foundation at events and meetings to promote its work and secure new opportunities.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONSSkills & Experience

· 5+ years demonstrated experience in building and managing corporate and philanthropic partnerships, preferably within the nonprofit sector.

· Proven ability to secure multi-year, mutually beneficial agreements with a focus on untied revenue.

· Exceptional leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams.

· Strong business development skills, with a proven ability to identify new opportunities and build a robust pipeline of support.

· Skilled relationship manager with the ability to influence, negotiate, build rapport, and achieve targets.

· Proven experience in briefing and collaborating with marketing and communications teams to develop tailored proposals and campaigns.

· Proficient in managing budgets and producing accurate performance and impact reports.

· Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, communication, or a related field.

· Previous experience in a similar role within a nonprofit or for-purpose organization.

· Knowledge of the healthcare or medical research sector is desirable.
