Role Overview

The role of the Lead Education Assistant (EA) is to lead, mentor, coach, and model good practices for other Education Assistants. As an important and valued leader, you will assist in supporting the Leadership Team in leading, growing and managing the Education Assistant workforce.

Responsibilities and Expectations
* Lead, mentor, coach, and model good practices for other Education Assistants.
* Support the Leadership Team in leading, growing, and managing the Education Assistant workforce.
* Assist in providing support and training to EAs to promote positive student behaviour and improve educational outcomes.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of delivery of education programmes and/or behaviour management plans.
* Identify problems and assist teachers and other Education Assistants in developing strategies and solutions.
* Lead, mentor, coach, induct, and train other Education Assistants and professional teams, including providing advice and evaluating education programmes.
* Coordinate staff rosters and relief to assist in delivery of effective education programmes.
* Use strong written and oral communication skills, including report writing and presentation of student data.
* Coordinate, collect and present student data at a whole school community level effectively.
Qualifications and Eligibility
* Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of appointment.
* Valid Working With Children Check before starting.
* Strong communication and organisational skills, able to work collaboratively with superordinates and subordinates.
* Experience working with students with a range of learning needs including ASD is well regarded.
* Well developed oral and written communication skills.
* Organisational skills to coordinate staff rosters and relief.
