Support Worker
We are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to provide community access, day program activities, and in‑home support to our clients.
Location: Bokarina – Sunshine Coast
Employment type: Permanent Part‑time
Salary: $34.75 per hour + Salary Packaging
Role Overview
Providing community access, day program activities and in‑home support to our clients, you will assist people with disabilities to develop practical life skills and to identify their goals for daily living, community participation, learning and building relationships.
Responsibilities
- Help people achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
- Assist with personal care as required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
- Support meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitate community connection through socialising and outings.
- Provide support during daily activities such as walks, cinema visits or appointments.
- Help maintain the people we support a connection to their family, friends and services.
Qualifications and Skills
- Passion for working in disability services with a commitment to learning and growth.
- Solid people skills: patient, empathetic, resilient and able to connect with clients.
- Ability to support individuals with challenging or complex behaviours using appropriate strategies.
- High regard for privacy and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is a plus, but not essential.
- Clearances including Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid/CPR, and a valid driver’s licence with comprehensive insurance for client transport.
