Join Silentium Defence and help shape the electronics that power our world-leading passive radar and advanced sensing systems.
We're looking for an Electrical/Electronic Engineer
with hands-on production experience who can design, test, integrate and support the electronic sub-systems that make our technology possible. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical foundations who enjoys owning their work end-to-end and contributing to a fast-moving engineering environment.
About the Role
In this role, you will support the full lifecycle of electronic sub-systems — from PCB design and analogue/RF circuitry through to production support, obsolescence management, and system-level integration.
You will work alongside talented engineers across hardware, firmware and test teams, contributing to high-impact technology used across defence and critical national infrastructure.
What You'll Do
* Design and develop electronics sub-systems (PCB, analogue, RF, power management, communications).
* Support production builds, testing, documentation, and verification & validation activities.
* Identify obsolete or discontinued components, source replacements and maintain purchasing records.
* Assist with fault-finding, troubleshooting and improving manufacturability and reliability.
* Contribute to hardware/software integration and system-level testing.
* Review sub-contractor designs and support initial testing and quality checks.
* Maintain high standards for quality, safety and documentation across all work.
What You'll Bring
* Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Systems or Communications Engineering.
* 3+ years of work experience as a qualified engineer
* 1–2 years' production experience.
* Australian citizenship (required for NV1 security clearance eligibility).
* Experience with PCB design and analogue electronics (RF circuits, power management, communications).
* Ability to manage part obsolescence — identify substitutes, source and evaluate alternatives.
* Experience with embedded hardware, digital electronics, microcontrollers, DSP or FPGAs.
* Familiarity with Altium Designer.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Why Silentium Defence
* Work on cutting-edge passive radar and advanced sensing technology.
* Build skills across PCB, analogue, RF and system integration.
* Contribute to mission-critical national security projects.
* Be part of a collaborative, purpose-driven engineering team.
