Mechanical Fitter - Darra, QLD
The Opportunity
Exclusive opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our production team. You will be working on day shift Monday to Friday (8am - 5:30pm) with the occasional Saturdays available.
Your role is responsible for providing effective support in the preventative maintenance and repair of the Tile and Accessory Plant and all associated equipment, ensuring the achievement of factory production targets.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Fitter will form part of the maintenance team and will be responsible for:
- Carrying out preventative and scheduled maintenance on all mechanical machinery within the factory
- Ensuring all relevant procedures & safe work method statements are filled out before maintenance tasks commence
- Experience with any of the following would be highly advantageous: welding (MIG, TIG),
- Fault finding and troubleshooting to limit downtime and improve the operational effectiveness of the factory
- Adhere to safe work practices and take steps to identify hazards and report incidents
About you
- Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate (or similar trade related certificate with experience)
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrated practical approach, adept at problem-solving, exhibiting mature judgment, capable of independent work and collaborative teamwork
- Proficient in welding and troubleshooting techniques
- Strong mechanical acumen
