About the Role
Working closely with the Director of the Snowsports Academy, the Snowsports Academy Tutor plays a key role in supporting students academically and pastorally throughout their stay at Lions Lair Lodge, Smiggin Holes.
The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality residential learning experience while fostering resilience, teamwork, independence and personal growth among students.
This role involves academic support, supervision and participation in the broader life of the Snowsports Academy and requires a strong commitment to student wellbeing, safety and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide academic support during study sessions and study days
* Assist with the supervision of students on campus
* Support the wellbeing and pastoral care of students
* Facilitate campus pastoral care session
* Support the delivery of online classroom learning
* Monitor student safety, participation and achievement
* Assist in promoting and teaching Snowsports opportunities for students
* Demonstrate and apply sound risk management practices
* Contribute to programming, emergency and risk management procedures
* Build positive relationships with students, parents and staff
* Attend staff training and professional development programs

Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified classroom teacher
* Experience supporting student learning and wellbeing
Desirable Qualifications
* Ski or Snowboard Instructor certification
* Experience in outdoor education or residential programs
Working Conditions
This is a residential seasonal role based at Lions Lair Lodge, Smiggin Holes. The position operates six days per week during the six-week academic program, with one scheduled weekend off during the season. Due to the residential nature of the role, staff are expected to work outside standard school hours and participate fully in campus life.
