Public Space Operations (PSO) is a service delivery, customer focused and commercially driven business that prides itself on keeping Brisbane's streets and public spaces clean, green and safe for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.
The Role
As Team Leader, you'll guide and support your team to deliver day-to-day arboricultural operations. You'll play a key role in planning work, maintaining safety standards and ensuring services meet customer needs while following best practice and environmental standards.
This role suits someone who enjoys leading from the front, balancing on-the-tools work with team leadership, customer interaction and operational coordination.
In this role you will:
* lead and support a team to deliver tree maintenance and construction activities
* set clear expectations, monitor performance and provide regular feedback
* plan and coordinate work with team members, contractors and council staff
* provide expert arboricultural advice using Australian Standards and visual tree assessments (VTA)
* conduct inspections and recommend practical tree management solutions
* ensure all work is safe, compliant and aligned with WHS standards and procedures
* promote a strong "customer first" approach in all interactions
* maintain accurate records, reports and job documentation
* support incident investigations, complaints and insurance enquiries
* deliver on-the-job training and mentor team members
* ensure equipment is used and maintained correctly
* manage materials and supplies to keep operations running smoothly.
To be successful you will need:
* proven ability to lead teams and manage performance through clear direction and feedback
* strong experience in arboriculture, including use of industry tools and machinery
* hands‐on experience with advanced tree work, including canopy access and tree removal using ropes, harnesses and rigging systems
* solid communication skills, with the ability to deal professionally with customers
* good written skills and confidence completing reports and records
* strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise urgent work and manage competing demands
* possession of a Trade Certificate III in Arboriculture
* possession of a current White Card
* possession of a current MR (Medium Rigid) class driver licence.
