About the role
Council is seeking ahighly organised and proactive Construction Supervisor to provide onsitesupervision of capital improvement projects and maintenance works.
The role supports thedelivery of capital and maintenance programs by monitoring contractoractivities and ensuring works are carried out in accordance with contractrequirements. This includes overseeing compliance with OH&S and riskmanagement practices, tracking budgets and funding, monitoring qualitystandards, timelines, and resourcing, and assisting with issue identificationand resolution as required.
You will contribute toproject reporting, progress tracking, and coordination with internalstakeholders and contractors to help ensure projects are completed to a highstandard and within agreed timeframes.
This position suitssomeone with a practical, methodical approach who is comfortable workingonsite, following established processes, and supporting the delivery ofconsistent, high‐quality outcomes.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following:
* Arelevant tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) in Works Supervision, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline, with relevant experience underpinnedby a sound knowledge of construction practices, OH&S, and risk management.
* Goodknowledge of relevant legislation, standards, Codes of Practice, regulations, and safety requirements in relation to road works, including the RoadManagement Act.
* Apositive "can‐do" approach that incorporates professionalism, ethical standards, and integrity.
* Soundunderstanding of contract administration and financial and budget managementsystems.
* Thecapability to effectively manage time, establish priorities, and achievebusiness outcomes despite conflicting pressures, combined with knowledge of andfamiliarity with the principles and practices of budgeting and relevantaccounting and financial procedures.
* Highlyeffective interpersonal skills, incorporating verbal and written communication,intermediate to advanced PC literacy (including MS Office applications), astrategic and operational perspective, advocacy and facilitation skills, andexcellent customer service.
