We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) with a minimum of 1 year experience in mechanical building services or HVAC design. In this role, you will take responsibility for the design and documentation of mechanical and HVAC systems, working closely with senior engineers, builders and project managers to deliver efficient, compliant and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design mechanical and HVAC systems for commercial and residential projects
* Perform basic heat load calculations, equipment selection and ductwork/pipework sizing
* Prepare and coordinate mechanical documentation, including drawings and technical specifications
* Liaise with builders, architects, consultants and subcontractors to resolve design issues
* Review designs for compliance with NCC/BCA, Australian Standards and project requirements
* Contribute to project planning, coordination and delivery within agreed timeframes
Requirements:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Minimum 1 year experience in mechanical building services / HVAC design
* Demonstrated experience working on HVAC/mechanical services projects
* Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) – BIM/Revit experience highly regarded
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
* Good written and verbal communication skills for client and contractor liaison
