Safey Manager
Responsibilities
* Serve as the Safety lead for Construction Delivery teams for their in‐field activities.
* Manage and support a team of on‐site safety professionals.
* Oversee incident investigations and corrective actions.
* Partner with stakeholders and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance.
* Build relationships with the Project's client and regulatory bodies.
* Integrate safety protocols into project planning and execution.
* Lead audit and certification activities from an in‐field perspective.
* Recommend and implement safety lead practices and innovations.
Requirements
* Tertiary (Bachelor) degree in Safety, Environmental, Project Management, Building, Construction.
* 10 years post‐graduate experience.
* Experience within the rail, transport, construction, mining & resources, or engineering industries (project experience) preferable.
* Conducting and interpreting audits and reviews.
* Training in high‐risk activities such as Working at heights, confined space, and rescue training.
* Experience in developing, analysing and reporting on complex project performance, compliance, and defects and/or non‐conformance.
* In‐depth knowledge of Comcare legislative requirements and all Australian Standards relating to relevant scope of works.
* Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes and the ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project.
* Experience using Safety & Rehabilitation Management Systems.
* Proven facilitating and presentation skills e.g., focus groups and workshops.
* Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build a high‐performing team that delivers excellence.
* Detailed knowledge and demonstrated high level experience in project management, planning, budgeting, and cost control.
