Underground Maintenance/Projects (Fixed Plant Fitter)
Victory Minerals Pty Ltd is a successful gold explorer and producer in Victoria's gold belt. The company has entered an exciting new era, under new ownership and exploring untapped new opportunities. The primary focus is our high‑grade underground gold mine in Ballarat, which started producing gold in December 2005, and consistently produces 30,000 to 40,000 ounces of gold per year.
The mine is located within the beautiful regional town of Ballarat (located just 100 km west of Melbourne), which is experiencing unprecedented growth and development.
Role
A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for a Fixed Plant Fitter. The role reports to the Project Crew Leading Hand.
Hours of Work
7:7 roster, Wednesday to Tuesday (Week on Week off)
12‑hour days (7am to 7pm)
Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Fixed Plant Fitter, you will be part of a small team who maintain the surface and underground mine infrastructure. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing surface and underground plant and equipment including ventilation (fans), compressors and de‑watering pipes and pumps (Mono, Flygt, Air and Grout) as per site requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone with a trade qualification background (Fitter & Turner, Boilermaker, Carpenter) who is safety conscious, happy to be hands‑on, with a high level of mechanical aptitude and ability to fabricate, construct and repair equipment as needed. You are able to read mechanical diagrams and schematics and work autonomously.
You are comfortable working in an underground environment and can commit to working 12‑hour shifts, with the ability to flexibly change to suit the needs of the business if required.
