What You'll Be DOING
* Underwrite, manage and service a renewal book and produce new business in accordance with business unit goals.
* Negotiate with producers within the limits of your delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards.
* Underwrite within Group rules & guidelines.
* Effective engagement with brokers, ensuring relationship growth and a good flow of new business.
* Uphold and enhance AXA XL's brand in the market.
* Accountability for underwriting results of the construction book; contributing to overall strategy and financial planning.
* Collaborate with colleagues from wider AXA XL, cross‐selling with other products where appropriate.
You will report to the Underwriting Manager, Energy and Construction – Australia.
What You Will BRING
Required Skills And Abilities
* Bachelor's degree preferred with equivalent senior experience in Construction underwriting.
* A technical underwriting background in Construction line of business with a demonstrable background in writing large complex corporate risks.
* Analytical Skills – visualize, gather information, articulate, analyze and solve complex problems.
* Industry Knowledge – understanding of the insurance industry and specific product portfolios to positively impact the underwriting business.
* Ability to respond to a changing market environment with flexibility and innovation.
* Ability to work independently.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and collegiate behaviour.
* Commercially astute and able to contribute to growth and development of the construction portfolio.
